For goodness' bake!

Baking is fun AND surprisingly easy (especially if it comes from a baking kit...shhhh)
Ok, so my mum found one those cake mixes in the cupboard so I thought why the hell not make some cakes
(I live on the edge I know)
Yeh it's kinda technically cheating, but there is still effort required I'll have you know! Opening packets with your HANDS, adding an egg with your HANDS...and erm..mixing with a SPOON..(a spoon I tell you!)
Well I'm exhausted.
Here's the result of my hard work:

They tasted goooooooood :)
Who else likes to bake?
LETS START A REVOLUTION!
I'm joking, calm down.

Apparently I serve housewives all over the world.

I swear every time I go down to Brighton, I find something different I love about it. It never gets old.
Speaking of old though..these photos are from Easter time, the same time I found the box of Postcards from the Past (click the link to view the post) in a shop. Anyway, I completely forgot to post about this little tin box Hannah found for me in the same shop. IT HAS MY NAME ON IT!! So I'm just gonna pretend it was made for me, rather than the fact it's a company brand for kitchen appliances....shhhhh no one needs to know ok...
Bit rusty isn't it? In a way I kinda like it like that, even if that is a bit skanky
Apparently 'skanky' isn't a real word  because it's got a red squiggly line underneath it and my laptop is trying to correct me with the word 'swanky'...erm thank you? but no.
Saying that, I'm surprised the word 'squiggly' was accepted with open arms.
Check out these old 50's ads! I'm practically selling myself on this blog aren't I? whoops.
See, I'm the type to make fun of sexist 50's ads and now my name is on bloody kitchen appliances! There's really no escaping my inevitable future of being the perfect housewife is there? Is this a sign?
HA!! No no no, it's the kitchenware that lives in the kitchen, NOT me ;)

Entering a dream world.

I can't get over how beautiful these photos are.
Ellen Rogers, a fashion photographer, sticks to the old fashioned dark room process instead of meddling around with digital editing, making her photos all the more impressive.
I mean WOW, seriously...I'll let the photos do the talking now.
I could have literally put up all her photos because they're all stunning, so if you wanna see more of her work click the link below:

Is it only in the movies?

I find that in a lot of films the characters have their own quirky little hidden places, to which they then decide to share with that 'special someone'  followed by a deep confession like "yeh I used to come here as a child..." and this is all obviously accompanied by a build up of feel good classical music (very emotional yes).

ERM..HOLD UP!! cut the music (imagine the sound effect please), can I have one too?! Where do I sign up?
You know the places I mean, like the closed down swimming pool that they'll somehow manage to break into without being arrested, or breaking into a park after hours (like in Notting Hill) - anything remotely illegal apparently. Well I want one too. I want a secret 'wow how did you find this' kind of place :( and I can't really say "I used to come here as a child" because that would probably be a nursery and I don't think that's how it works....

Do any of you have a secret or favourite place?
I really hope it's not just a film thing.

We all live in a yellow...

As soon as I finished reading this book, I just had to see the film. I don't know why, but I just find it exciting to see how another person interprets what you've literally just imagined in your head. It's like someone basically turning a dream you've just had into a motion picture - it's cool to watch. Personally I felt the book was a little pointless, but I did find the character's blunt and sarcastic personality and the odd way he observes life really amusing.
If he existed, he'd be so interesting to have as a friend.

I wish there was a film that followed my every move. - Oliver Tate

Cute quirky film. Anyone seen it or read the book?
What did you think about it?

mmmmmm.......

I went to Manchester for the weekend with Hannah (click her name to see her blog) to help her move in to her new place for uni. I say 'help', but really I just watched her do most of the cleaning and unpacking.......what? I was supervising... Anyway before we got there, we stopped at Chester - a charming little place with Medieval buildings, so here's a couple of photos from my weekend:
Hot chocolate from a tea room in Chester. mmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Birthday time, which can only mean birthday CAKE..
And here's mine and Hannah's Red Velvet Birthday Cake that we made. Completely overloaded with icing, sprinkles and a chocolate filling. Pretty sure one bite will give you diabetes.

Pack your bags up and leave.

Last week I went back up to Newcastle to pack my room up and move it over to the new house! I also offered to help pack my sisters room too because she's busy doing work experience (unlike me, who has decided to be a lazy fool this summer).
NEWSFLASH: packing and cleaning is really not that fun...I know, it's crazy, I'm a girl, we should love this kind of stuff.... ;)
 Goodbye room!
Mature. I swear this sign hadn't even been up for a whole day and it already got violated lol.
2 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 Kitchen packed up and cleaned ...
Way...too...tired..
So I ended up hiring my own VIP coach because it had been a long week, and you know what? I thought I deserved it.
Nah that's a lie...I actually arrived late, and with the 1st coach being full, I got put on a 2nd, much emptier, coach. Bit awkward though when our coach parked up side by side and all the people squashed on their coach could see our beautiful empty coach and there was me comfortably leaning right back on my chair loving life hahaaaaa.
